Limited-government conservatives are impractical utopians

Limited-government conservatives constantly uphold the constitution as the key to restraining government, but at the same time they complain that the government is failing to observe the limits imposed in the constitution. It is utopian to give all the power to one group and assume that they will properly limit themselves.
